Starting this week, users in New Orleans can use OnTheCorner to find their favorite food trucks, and get notifications when they’re within walking distance of trucks around lunch or dinner.
We couldn’t be more excited about expanding to our first major city: New Orleans. The city has long been one of our favorite places to visit, and their contributions to American cuisine are undeniable. It made perfect sense for us to expand there when we got the opportunity to head down to the Crescent City for New Orleans Entrepreneur Week 2017.
Users in New Orleans can download our free-to-use app to see where their favorite food trucks are on a daily basis, or get notifications when those trucks are close by around meal time. We’re the only app on the market that offers this technology, and its something that we’ve seen drive crowds to food trucks.
Over the past six months we’ve been re-writing the back end of our app to make our api better. What this means for us is that we can now expand to any city in the US and handle the traffic/number of food trucks. What it means for users is that the app runs faster and uses less battery.
In addition to some improvements with how the app runs, we’ve also enabled the functionality for food trucks to register within the app, and edit their profile whenever they want.
You can find OnTheCorner in the iOS and Android app stores today for free.
